| Notes | In this "transatlantic threshold novel" (Schwellenroman), a Czech tries to reimmigrate to Prague after World War Two, before having to flee from communism to Bayern. This flight from communisms illustrates his staunch anti-Communism as expressed in literary form. A central theme, as is characteristic for reimmigration literature around 1950, is the encounter between exiles and non-exiles. |
