| Notes | Massey wrote to Canada (and Australia, Newfoundland, South Africa) to ask if they would receive 3.000 prisoners of war and 4.000 dangerous immigrants (category A of the alien tribunals). However, they eventually also included immigrants of the category B and C in the transports. S.S. Duchess of York, S.S. Ettrick and S.S. Sobieski shipped 6,750 men to Canada between 29 June and 15 July 1940. |
