Notes | In this novel, her alter ego Ilka (here: Weissnix), a Jewish refugee from Vienna arriving in New York. Disappointed by the similarity (and dissimilarity) of New York to pre-war Vienna, Ilka heads to the West in search of the "real" America, meeting "her fist American" in Nevada. |
