| Notes | Of the 960 refugees that were released from Canadian detention camps, 264 were Austrian. Blaire had ordered that he personally had to agree to the release of Jewish refugees. Requirements for release were first-degree relatives in Canada, students under the age of 21 who had sponsors that would pay for their livelihood and place of study or skilled labourers who had a place of work in the Canadian industry or agriculture. |
