Notes As opposed to the social realist Pesch, Weiß was a social romanticist (Sozialromantiker) who was strongly opposed to modernity and supporter of hierarchical paternalistic social structures. While Weiß was not part of "the modern, racialized anti-Semitism of right-wing movements", he supported the anti-Semitic idea of Jews as perpetrators exploiting the non-Jewish masses. At the same time, he was a strong opponent of slavery as "the ultimate abomination of capitalism."
