Notes Pryce-Jones's position at the center of cultural life in Vienna during the 1930s, as well as his comfortable life among his first wife's family, enabled him later to act as a major mediator of Central European literature and culture, for instance, to publish a book on Beethoven, and to translate Hofmannsthal’s libretto of Der Rosenkavalier. (see Zacharasiewicz, Transatlantic Networks, pp. 223).
