Notes	While the Vienna city government and the Austrian central ministries were in support of this idea, the ARA strongly resisted it, as it far exceeded their focus on feeding children (Adlgasser 84). In fact, the presumed allegiance to the ARA threatened their work in Austria, as the child-feeding and Vienna Public Feeding increasingly came to be seen as one and the same in public discourse (Adlgasser 84-85). While in general in support of the initiative, the strong and direct connection to it was fought against and eventually explicitly clarified through a communiqué that emphasised America's lack of interest in financially supporting Vienna Public Feeding.
