Notes Dorothy Thompson rapidly and unhesitatingly took the hint given by her mentor Marcel Fodor, who had alerted her to the imminent second attempt by Emperor Karl and his wife Zita to return from Switzerland and reclaim the crown of Hungary. She rushed to the border, crossed into Hungary and was able to interview the royal actors in their abortive attempt in Tata near Budapest in November 1921.
